Kent College Eco Warriors

In 2019, Kent College officially became an Eco School  by being awarded The Green Flag from Eco-Schools .

The Eco-Schools organisation is designed to empower students to be the change our world needs by encouraging them to join in the action-orientated fun.

Projects:

Wildlife garden:

Plans are afoot for a wildlife garden to promote biodiversity and student well being, planning, promoting, locating, all student led

 

Green Day:

Non uniform day- students came in wearing green and the money raised sponsored an orangutan in Borneo.

 

Coppicing in Blean woods:

For many years there has been a volunteer group helping with coppicing in Blean woods.

 

Earth Hour:

Kent College, as a community, switch of the lights, not use electricity (as much as possible!) for one hour during the school day- next earth hour 24th March 2023.

 

Treeplanting:

“Plant a tree for jubilee!”

 

Woodland Trust:

Applied and successful for receiving trees from the Woodland Trust. Looking to plant 300 trees/saplings/hedging species in March 2023.

 

Big Plastic Count:

Took part in the nationwide big plastic count.
